A few days ago I received an email basically saying Congratulations, if you're getting this it means you've been cast in High School Musical! It then went on to say that they won't be announcing any of the roles until rehearsals start. In June. Two months away. Which seems kind of odd to me and also terribly agonizing waiting that long to hear which part you are (even though they want you to commit right now).Unfortunately, regardless of role, I'm not going to be able to take part in the show. Some ongoing personal stuff is happening with my family, and it turns out we're going to have to be in Arizona for six weeks this summer. Mid-May through the end of June. Which cuts big-time into rehearsal period. I know that going to AZ is something that definitely needed to happen, so I'm at peace about not doing HSM.
I'm bummed (especially after how well my audition went) that I won't find out about what role I was under consideration for, but in a way, not knowing makes it easier to bow out of the production. I really wanted to do this show, but I also have complete trust that not doing it must mean God has something that much more amazing ahead for me. He always does.

Mm. That is too bad, but you have a good perspective on it.
Wow, that really sucks!
I agree that it IS weird they told you that you'd been cast, but not which part you had, and then expected you to commit to it without knowing! Very strange.
I hope everything is all right with your family, even if you choose not to blog about it. :)
That isn't great, but I love the faith that you have. Because things will work out.
(And I worked where they shot HSM, at East High, so looking at that picture is weird because I used to walk in those doors four days a week. And I was there when they put up all the set for the third one.)
That is too bad. Wow High School Musical. It is awesome just to know you made it.
Aww, I'm sorry it didn't work out. But you have a great attitude about it!

Aww, that's too bad. But kudos for having faith that something's going to work out. That's a lesson I'm trying to learn myself right now.
I am glad that you got in, and it's great that you have this attitude about it too, but I am sad that I will not be working with you in this one! I will miss you lots.
great attitude erin! i love you so much girl! :)
Two thoughts ..I saw the stage production at The Opera, I did not like it. 2nd, In all my years in show Biz, I have never heard of not telling actors what role they had before committing to a show.
Im so sorry it didnt work out! :(
I am so sorry that you aren't going to be able to accept this, but I am very proud of you for auditioning, glad that you were chosen, and content to hear that you've made peace with the timing.
Every audition - the preparation for it and the execution the day of - is a learning experience. Just think of what you learned you can do, and what you DID.
It _is_ odd that they are making everyone want two months to find out their roles.
