press weekend

This past weekend, I flew to Washington (from AZ) for a couple of intense press-related days for The Mooring.

Saturday - my plane came in at 10 PM and I was met by Hailee, whose house I stayed at. I discovered that my luggage never left San Diego. Big bummer as (food allergies and all) I kind of needed the food I had packed in the suitcase. Thankfully I'd packed a little on my carry-on, plus the family I stayed with was uber-kind about helping me get groceries and meals. (Thank you, Naccaratos!)

Sunday - Met cast-mates Lilli and Katie. The three of us each had a photoshoot session that day with Glenn for new headshots. I had such a great time doing mine, although it was a lot uncomfortable poses (that looked good on camera) and not moving and holding my head just-so. Glenn would throw out a bunch of adjectives for how he wanted my expression to be, and I'd try to mash them all together in one look. It was intense and hard, but man, so fun. Photos of the entire cast have finally been posted online; go to the cast page on the website to see them.

Later in the day, Glenn talked to us about different movie-related things, as well as the interviews coming up the following day. Lilli, Hailee and I went to bed early to rest up for the following day.

Monday - Woke up at 5 AM, showered, dressed, ate, and headed to a local radio station (it was a country music-broadcasting station) for an on-air interview. In the car on the way there, we were listening to the two DJs, and then suddenly we were talking to them in-studio and other people were listening to us. Craziness. You can listen to the interview here to hear us talk about the plot, our characters, and more. I also met for the first time castmates Anna and Olivia.

In the afternoon, Glenn talked to us more about the movie and what we need to do to prepare, etc. At around 2 PM an interviewer and cameraman came to shoot a segment for that night's 10 o'clock Fox news. A sneek-peek can be seen here . . . I'll let you know when the full interview is posted (which even I haven't seen yet).

At 5 PM we went to the local news station for a live TV interview. I loved seeing the inside of the studio and how everything worked! Way cool. I don't have a link for that interview yet, either, but will post when I do.

I was in bed before 9 PM that night, and up at 3:15 the next morning for an early flight. It was an exhausting weekend, but so rewarding, and I'm really glad I was able to go. I loved meeting some of the other girls, and seeing Hallie, Glenn and Ivy is always great. Everything seems more real and tangible, now. We're going to make a movie this summer. WOW.

That is WAY cool. And the headshots look awesome! They're so deep...and brooding, sort of.
